What is a workcamp?
We can call them with many different names: workcamps, volunteer camps, international solidarity workcamps. Call them how you want, but the result is always the same. Are volunteering experiences that provide different activities: buildings restoration, cleaning of green areas, teaching English, non-formal education, construction of environmentally sustainable buildings…
Who can participate?
If you’re over 18 you can participate in any workcamp within the European Community. From 21 years onwards you can participate in WorkCamps in the world with no age limits.
Where do the workcamps take place?
Every year the WorkCamps proposed by Youth Crew involve more than 80 countries worldwide to nearly all continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and South America.
Do the workcamp have a cost?
Yes, they have it. Even if they are volunteering activities they have a cost, for leading them, monitoring them, equipping them, providing for any necessary insurance. Each project has a variable cost and in some cases are expected redemptions. Consult the specific section for each project and inquire about costs before applying.
Why participate?
The WorkCamps are an excellent opportunity to travel responsibly, meeting new people from around the world, develop their skills in a specific field of interest without sacrificing fun.
